I found a small piece of ocean earth on the beach in Costa Rica. Over time this palm-sized clay has been marked by costal tides, smoothed and pitted by constant movement, rolled with the ebb and flow of the surf. This lovely worn artifact is the inspiration for my oil and graphite calligraphic COSTA RICA CLAY paintings.

My art is steeped in nature and sense of place; in the depths and widths I ask the deepest questions and receive the simplest truths.
